Nominate a Business

Nominees must be a member of the Mahomet Area Chamber of Commerce in good standing for at least six months prior to the nomination. You may reference the list of eligible members to assist you in making your nomination. Nominations are solicited from the MACC general membership and you may self-nominate. You may make a nomination in as many categories as you wish and you may repeat your nomination in another category if they meet the criteria of that category as well. Each award category has a list of criteria to be eligible for the award. Award recipients will be determined by the Award Committee based on a review of the number of nominations received, the summary of the reason for nomination, chamber membership standing, and additional information the Committee may ask to select the winner.

Start-Up Business of the Year

This award recognizes a successful new start-up business that has laid the foundation for growth and achievement by developing sound business strategies and practices. Criteria: Nominee must have been a licensed business for a minimum of six months but no longer than two years. The nominee must demonstrate a high level of entrepreneurial spirit, perseverance, creativity and a drive to succeed. Nominee must be a MACC member in good standing.

Food Service Business of the Year

This award honors the food and/or beverage service provider whose passion for excellence in culinary preparation and service is rivaled only by their integral involvement in the Mahomet community.  Criteria:  Nominees may include restaurants, breweries, grocery stores, food vendors, coffee shops, food truckers, bakeries, and caterers.  Nominee must have been a licensed business for a minimum of one year. Nominee must demonstrate consistent standards of excellence in food preparation and service.  Nominee must demonstrate excellence in community involvement. Nominee must be a MACC member in good standing.

Overall Business of the Year

This prestigious award recognizes the MACC member business who demonstrates the highest caliber of business service, practice and ethics.  Winners of this award are known within the Mahomet Community for their stewardship and civic responsibility in addition to their business. Criteria:  Nominee must have been in business three or more years at time of award.  Nominee must deliver outstanding service, follow best business practices and demonstrate professional ethics in all business transactions.  Nominee must demonstrate civic responsibility and strong community stewardship. Nominee must be a MACC member in good standing.

Small Business of the Year

Community Servant of the Year

This award recognizes an individual that goes above and beyond the call of duty in their role as either a Civil Servant to the Mahomet Area or employee/volunteer of a Non-Profit organization.  Nominee must be employed/volunteering with the organization for at least three years. Nominee must exemplify meritorious services to the Mahomet community in his/her role. Nominee’s organization must be a MACC member in good standing.

Health & Wellness Business of the Year

This award recognizes an outstanding individual or organization dedicated to improving the lives within the Mahomet community through health or fitness. Criteria: Nominees may include professional associations, business organizations, fitness centers, family care, wellness centers, pharmacies, home health care, senior communities, dental, insurance companies, or any business that provides health services. The nominee must be a licensed individual or business for a minimum of one year. The nominee must deliver outstanding service, follow best business practices and demonstrate professional ethics in all business transactions. The nominee must be a MACC member in good standing.

Volunteer of the Year

This distinguished award recognizes an individual that shows dedication and service to the Mahomet Area Chamber of Commerce.  The volunteer continuously extends themselves and/or their business as representatives and messengers of good will for the MACC in the public and private domain.  Criteria:  Nominee must have served on a MACC event committee or board for a minimum of two years to be eligible for nomination.  Nominee must deliver outstanding service and dedication to the Chamber.
